Returning To God : A Revived Heart
“[NET] Come on! Let’s return to the Lord! He himself has torn us to pieces, but he will heal us! He has injured us, but he will bandage our wounds! ”
Hosea 6:1-3

There are moments along our journey when our hearts simply grow weary. We still attend church, we still serve, we still pray, and we still speak about God - yet deep down inside, we realize our relationship with Him is no longer what it once was.

This is why Hosea’s call is so vital: “Come, let us return to the LORD.”

Revival is not first and foremost about massive programs, large crowds, or electric worship atmospheres. Revival begins when our hearts return to God.

1. RETURN TO THE LORD

Hosea does not say, “Let us try harder to be better.” He says, “Let us return.”

Sometimes what we need is not something brand new, but a return to what we once left behind - prayer, God’s Word, worship, obedience, and an intimate communion with God.

Perhaps your heart feels far away today. Do not be ashamed to come back.

God still keeps the way home open.

2. THE GOD WHO TEARS DOWN IS ALSO THE GOD WHO HEALS

This scripture reminds us that God knows our wounds and our weaknesses. There are seasons when God permits painful processes so that our hearts learn once more to rely fully on Him.

Yet He does not leave us broken there.

He heals. He bandages our wounds. He restores.

Whatever you may be walking through, disappointment, failure, exhaustion, or grief, bring it all to God. Do not run from Him because of your wounds; run to Him with your wounds.

3. PURSUE A DEEP KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

Hosea 6:3 says:

“Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him.”

Genuine revival is not merely experiencing God once in a while. It is a daily longing to know Him deeper.

We do not want to settle for merely knowing about God. We want to know His heart, hear His voice, obey His will, and walk faithfully with Him.

< Personal Reflection >

Take a moment today to ask yourself:

“What is the true condition of my heart before God?”

Do I still carry my first love for Him?

Is my prayer life still alive and vibrant?

Does God’s Word still nourish my soul?

Do I still long to know Him deeper?

Perhaps we need to pause, come before God, and say:

“Lord, I want to come back. Revive my heart. Restore what has grown cold within me.”

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Today we return to You. Revive our hearts that have grown cold, restore our weary souls, and heal the hidden wounds we carry. Teach us not merely to know about You, but to truly know You. Rekindle our love, our faith, and our deep longing for Your presence. Begin this work of REVIVE & RESTORE within us, so that our lives may become a living testimony and a blessing to our families, churches, communities, and across Borneo. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
