Revive Your Work

“[ESV] O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.”
WHEN WE REALISE THAT WE NEED GOD
Habakkuk lived in a time of great injustice and uncertainty. Yet, he no longer simply asked questions; he began to pray:
“In the midst of the years revive it.”
REMEMBERING GOD’S WORK
Habakkuk remembered God’s work in the past. God’s faithfulness became the foundation of his prayer.
When we remember how God has saved, restored, provided for, and guided us, we gain courage to believe that He is still at work.
The God who worked in the past is the same God who works today.
REVIVE YOUR WORK
Habakkuk prayed for God to reveal His work in his generation. This is a cry for spiritual revival.
We need hearts that return to God, repentance, renewed faith, holiness, and a love for His Word.
The Church, our families, and the younger generation need the tangible presence of God and lives that are shaped by His Word.
MAKE IT KNOWN IN OUR TIME
Habakkuk prayed for God to reveal His work “in our time.”
Lord, make Your work known in our generation.
Raise up those who have lost heart, restore those who are wounded, bring back those who have wandered away, strengthen Your Church, save those who do not yet know Christ, and raise up leaders who fear the Lord.
IN WRATH, REMEMBER MERCY
God is holy and just. Yet Habakkuk pleaded for mercy.
True spiritual revival involves both repentance and the mercy of God.
We cannot ask God to restore our circumstances without allowing Him to restore our hearts.

What area of your life, family, or church needs God to revive and restore?
Do not stop hoping. Do not stop praying.
God is still at work.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we remember Your faithfulness and acknowledge that we need You. Revive Your work in our time. Reveal Your power in our churches, families, younger generation, and communities. Restore what is broken, bring what is dead back to life, turn Your people back to You and in Your wrath, remember mercy.
