Restored to be A Witness

Restored to be A Witness
“[1] Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.(KJV)”
Isaiah 60:1-3

DEVOTIONAL: RESTORED TO REFLECT GOD'S LIGHT

Throughout my journey of faith and ministry, I have come to understand more deeply that God does not restore our lives simply to make us feel better. He restores us so that we may rise again, live according to His purpose, and become a blessing to others.

Sometimes, painful experiences, disappointments, and exhaustion can cause us to lose our passion. We may still be serving in ministry, yet our hearts no longer burn with the same fire we once had. However, Isaiah 60:1 reminds us that when God's light comes upon us, we are called to arise and reflect His glorious light.

1. ARISE FROM WHAT HAS WEAKENED YOU

God's Word declares, “Arise!” This is a divine call not to remain trapped in disappointment, fear, or past failures.

I recognise that there are seasons when I, too, need renewed strength from the Lord. Having many years of ministry experience does not mean that I will never grow weary. Nevertheless, I refuse to allow exhaustion to determine the direction of my spiritual journey.

God invites us to come to Him, receive His strength, and move forward once again in faith.

2. SHINE WITH THE LIGHT OF GOD

Isaiah 60:1 reveals that our light comes from the glory of the Lord. This means that we are not the source of the light; we are called to reflect the light that comes from Him.

To me, shining for Christ is not merely about preaching, leading, or participating in ministries that are visible to others. Shining also means demonstrating love, patience, honesty, humility, and integrity in our everyday lives.

The world needs people who do not merely speak about Christ but reveal His character through their actions.

3. BE A WITNESS IN THE MIDST OF DARKNESS

Isaiah 60:2 describes darkness covering the earth, yet the glory of the Lord rises upon His people. This powerful picture reminds me that we are called to be witnesses even when the world is facing uncertainty, struggles, and challenges.

Through REVIVE BORNEO, my heartfelt desire is to see God's people spiritually revived, restored, and empowered to bring hope to their families, churches, communities, and future generations

We do not need to wait until everything in our lives is perfect before becoming witnesses for Christ. We can begin by being faithful in small things, loving those around us, and sharing the hope we have found in Jesus Christ

PERSONAL REFLECTION

Today, I want to remind myself that God's restoration comes with responsibility. I am restored so that I may continue serving Him, strengthening others, and bringing glory to His name.

I do not want the light of Christ in my life to grow dim because of busyness, weariness, or the pressures of ministry. Instead, I desire to continue walking closely with God, allowing Him to renew my strength and use my life as a channel of His blessings.

Do not merely receive God's restoration. Arise and shine for His glory!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You for being the source of my light and strength. Restore my passion when I grow weary, and renew my faith when discouragement fills my heart. Teach me to reflect the love of Christ through my words, attitudes, and actions. Use my life to bring hope to those who are walking in darkness. May Your Church arise with renewed faith, spiritual passion, and boldness to become a powerful witness for Your glory. Let Your light shine through our lives, our families, our churches, and our communities. In the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
