Renewed In Christ — A Transformed Life
19 October 2026

“[NIV] Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
TRUE TRANSFORMATION BEGINS WITHIN
Throughout my journey of faith and ministry, I have increasingly come to realise that genuine transformation does not begin with what people can see on the outside, but with what God is doing within our hearts.
We may change our appearance, improve the way we work, and strive for greater excellence in ministry. However, none of these outward improvements necessarily means that our hearts have truly been renewed by God.
I have learned that God is not only interested in changing what we do, but also in transforming who we are before Him.
This is the true meaning of renewal in Christ. God desires to shape our thinking, renew our motivations, and teach us to live lives that increasingly reflect the character of Jesus Christ.
1. SURRENDERING OUR LIVES COMPLETELY TO GOD
Romans 12:1 encourages us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God.
To me, this means surrendering not only our Sundays or the time we spend serving in ministry, but every aspect of our lives—our families, work, decisions, plans, and future.
After many years of serving the Lord, I have come to understand more deeply that faithfulness is not measured simply by how much work we have accomplished for Him.
God does not merely desire our service; He desires our whole hearts.
Therefore, let us honestly ask ourselve : Is there any area of my life that I have not yet fully surrendered to God?
2. ALLOWING GOD TO RENEW OUR MINDS
Romans 12:2 reminds us not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed through the renewing of our minds.
We live in a world that is constantly changing. Human perspectives, societal values, and technological influences can gradually shape our thinking, often without us even realising it.
That is why we must continually return to the Word of God as the foundation for evaluating our lives and making decisions.
I, too, must constantly examine my own thoughts, attitudes, and motivations. Am I acting out of genuine love, or am I motivated by personal interests? Am I willing to receive correction, or am I too quick to defend my own opinions?
A renewed mind produces a life that becomes increasingly aligned with God's will.
This renewal is a continuous journey of transformation. Every day, we must learn to listen to God, turn away from attitudes that displease Him, and choose the path of obedien
3. DEMONSTRATING TRANSFORMATION THROUGH OUR LIVES
Genuine spiritual renewal does not end with biblical knowledge or powerful worship experiences. True renewal must become visible through the way we love, forgive, serve, and treat others.
As a leader and servant of God, I desire to continue learning how to lead by example—not merely through my words, but through my character.
People may not always remember everything we teach, but they will notice; how we live, how we respond under pressure, how we handle difficult situations, and how we treat those who disagree with us.
When Christ renews our hearts, our daily lives should become living testimonies of His transforming power.
This is my heartfelt desire for REVIVE BORNEO: Not merely to see people experience spiritual revival, but to witness lives genuinely transformed for the glory of God.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
Today, I want to ask myself an important question: Am I becoming more like Christ, or am I simply becoming more experienced in ministry?
I do not want to grow only in knowledge, responsibilities, and ministry experience. I also want to grow in love, humility, patience, and obedience to God.
I recognise that I still need God's shaping and refining work in my life every single day. As long as I live, I must remain willing to learn, change, and grow in Christ.
Therefore, let us continually make room for God to accomplish His work within us.
Revive my heart. Renew my mind. Transform my life.
When we are renewed in Christ, we become better prepared to be a blessing to our families, churches, communities, and the generations that follow.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for never ceasing to shape, refine, and transform our lives. Forgive us for the times when we have been more concerned about outward appearances than the true condition of our hearts. Renew our minds, attitudes, and motivations so that our lives may become increasingly aligned with Your will. Help me to continue growing in Christ. Give me a humble heart, a teachable spirit, the willingness to receive correction, and the faithfulness to obey Your Word. Lord, let the renewal You are working within us produce genuine and lasting transformation. May our families, churches, and communities see the love and character of Jesus Christ reflected through the way we live. Teach us not merely to speak about revival, but to live as people who have truly been renewed by Your Spirit. Revive our hearts. Renew our minds. Transform our lives. May everything we do bring honour and glory to Your holy name. In the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
