Prayers for Subis

Subis is a district within the Miri Division. The district has two main administrative areas, namely Sibuti and Niah-Suai.

Let us stand together in prayer and support the Subis District:

1. Pray for the Subis District Officer, Mr. Ashard bin Samshu, and the Subis community leader, Pemanca Dr. Ali Mudin, that God would bless them and grant them wisdom as they carry out their responsibilities, reflecting the values of God’s Kingdom such as compassion, justice, and strong integrity. Pray that they will not be involved in any form of corruption, but will carry out their duties with honesty, integrity, and faithfulness.

1 Timothy 2:1–2 (NIV) “...that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Pray for the churches in Subis, including:

• BEM / SIB (Borneo Evangelical Mission / Sidang Injil Borneo) — Gereja SIB BEM Sungai Saeh and Gereja BEM Batu Telingai

• Roman Catholic Church — there is a Catholic presence in the Subis/Bekenu-Niah area based on church records and directory sources.

• United Pentecostal Church — there is a United Pentecostal Church in Batu Niah, within the Batu Niah/Bekenu area.

Let us pray that these churches will continue to walk in unity and advance the Kingdom of God through evangelism and mission throughout the Subis District. We declare that a spiritual awakening will take place in Subis.

Let us pray that the fire of God will purify every church, so that the holiness of God will continue to be established. For where the holiness of God is present, there will be an extraordinary visitation of God.

2 Corinthians 7:1 (NIV) “...let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”

Pray for the schools in Subis, that students will receive quality education and have opportunities to know Christ through the ministry of Christian students (ISCF). Pray that many Christian teachers will be moved to take an active role in ministering to students, so that spiritual awakening will take place within the schools.

1 John 2:14 (NIV) “...you, young people, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.”

Let us pray for the institution of the family throughout the Subis District. May restoration take place in every family. Pray for the restoration of relationships between husbands and wives, as well as between parents and children. Families that are centered on Christ will surely raise a generation that loves and follows God.

Malachi 4:6 (NIV) “He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”

Pray for the breaking of the power of darkness throughout this district, especially among those who are still involved in idol worship and practices associated with generational spiritual bondage. Let us pray that many children of God will be sent out and used by God to bring freedom to those who are still bound by the powers of darkness.

Exodus 20:3–5 (NIV) “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God...”
