Prayers for Limbang District

8 October 2026

Prayers for Limbang District
“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD for it, for its welfare is your welfare”
Jeremiah 29:7

Limbang Division is located in the northeastern part of Sarawak. It borders Brunei Darussalam to the west, Brunei Bay to the north, Sabah/Kalimantan to the east, and Baram District (Miri Division) to the south. In the middle lies Temburong District (Brunei Darussalam), which makes Limbang Division geographically surrounded by Brunei. Limbang is the 5th division among the 12 divisions in the State of Sarawak. Limbang Division consists of two districts, namely Limbang District and Lawas District, as well as three sub-districts, namely Nanga Medamit, Sundar, and Trusan, covering a total area of 7,790 km². Limbang Division has a population of approximately 93,300 people, consisting of various ethnic groups including Malays, Kedayan, Chinese, Iban, Bisaya, Lun Bawang, and several other ethnic groups. The main occupations of the people include agriculture, livestock farming, fisheries, and business.

1. Development, Infrastructure & Economic Well-being

Let us pray for the development and advancement of infrastructure in Limbang District, particularly road and transportation projects that can bring benefits to the community.

Pray :

That development projects such as the Sabah-Sarawak Link Road (SSLR) and the Northern Coastal Highway will proceed smoothly and safely and bring tangible benefits to the community.

That these developments will not merely improve roads and infrastructure, but will also create more employment opportunities, businesses, and economic growth for the people of Limbang.

That in the future, the people of Limbang will be able to travel to other parts of Sarawak more easily, without the burden of high travel costs and complicated cross-border procedures.

Pray that God will give wisdom to the government, authorities, and everyone involved in planning and implementing development in Limbang.

2. Documentation for Residents in Rural & Border Areas Malaysia-Brunei

Pray especially for residents in rural and border areas who are still facing difficulties with identity documentation.

Pray :

That the government's efforts through the Special Task Force (Pasukan Petugas Khas — PPK) to address the issue of people without identity documents will proceed well.

Pray that the applications and efforts put forward by the Sarawak Government to the Federal Government will receive a good resolution.

That those who have been left behind due to documentation problems will be able to enjoy the rights and opportunities they are entitled to, including education, employment, government services, and development.

Pray specifically for rural communities, including the Penan community, that they will not be forgotten or marginalized from the development process.

Pray for wisdom, justice, and compassion for all parties involved in resolving this documentation issue.

Also pray for the safety of the border areas:

That God will protect the community from cross-border criminal activities.

Especially pray for young people, that they will not become involved in activities such as the smuggling of drugs, cigarettes, and other prohibited substances.

That the younger generation will have a good future and will not easily be influenced by immediate financial gains that could destroy their lives.

Pray for security forces and enforcement agencies, that they will be given wisdom, courage, and integrity in carrying out their responsibilities.

3. Unity Among Churches & Evangelism

Pray for the unity of the churches in Limbang (ACS), particularly in evangelism and joint ministry.

Pray :

That the churches within ACS will continue to be united in heart in fulfilling the Great Commission.

That the churches will not focus only on areas where churches already exist, but will continue to have a heart to reach places where people have not yet heard the Word of God.

Pray that the spirit of evangelism will not be seasonal, but will become a consistent way of life for the Church.

That every church and leader will have a stronger commitment to go, serve, and reach souls.

Pray that God will open doors to villages and areas that are difficult to reach and provide workers for His harvest.

4. Faith & the Future of Young People

Pray for the younger generation in Limbang, that they will have a strong faith and will not easily be influenced by the offers and values of the world.

Pray :

That young people will continue to seek God and build a personal relationship with Him.

That they will have a strong identity in Christ and will not easily sacrifice their faith for acceptance, romance, money, or worldly gain.

Especially as they face different religious, cultural, and value influences, pray that they will have a mature faith that is firmly rooted in the Word of God.

5. Prayer for Spiritual Revival in Limbang District

Finally, let us pray not only for change outside the Church, but also for spiritual revival throughout Limbang.

Pray that :

God will raise up a living and passionate Church.

God will unite the churches for one purpose: the Kingdom of God and the salvation of souls.

Young people will return to God.

Families will once again build a prayer altar in their homes.

Churches will have a heart to reach those who do not yet know Christ.

God will protect Limbang from crime, drug abuse, smuggling, family breakdown, and everything that harms the younger generation.

God will bless government leaders, the community, churches, and every family.

Limbang will become a blessed district, not only in terms of physical development, but also rich in faith, love, unity, and the knowledge of God.
