Weekly Prayer Devotional
Prayers for Beluru
10 September 2026

This week, let us pray specifically for Beluru, a district located within the Miri Division of Sarawak.
Let us pray for the churches in the area, including BEM Beluru Town, the Catholic Church, and other churches in the Bakong area. Pray for strength and protection over the servants of God who have been sent to minister there, that they may be further strengthened and empowered in the mission of evangelism in Beluru Town. Pray also for unity among the local churches, that they may work together to expand the Kingdom of God rather than compete with one another as members of the same Body of Christ.
John 17:21 "That all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me."
Pray that God will provide for the needs of the churches there, including adequate facilities and places of worship. We are thankful that churches throughout Sarawak have received attention and financial assistance from UNIFOR, which continues to provide support and contributions to local churches regardless of denomination.
Let us also pray that the churches will work together with other parties, including schools through ISCF, government agencies, and NGOs, in addressing social issues within the local community such as drug abuse, gambling, poverty, unemployment, and other social challenges.
Pray that the church will become a house of prayer and a place where more people can be discipled as followers of Christ. Spiritual dryness among believers can negatively affect the life and well-being of an entire community.
Matthew 28:19–20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them... and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
Let us also pray for economic growth in Beluru Town, that more opportunities will be created for young people to participate in agriculture, plantations, natural-resource-related industries, small businesses, and government employment.
Our hope is to see more employment opportunities in the town so that young people can develop their potential and skills in relevant fields. We long to see the youth making a positive impact and contributing to the development of Beluru Town, just like other more developed towns. Let us pray that more believers will understand their God-given calling and live as salt and light wherever God has placed them.
Matthew 5:13–16 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? ... You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Let us speak blessings over Beluru Town. Let us declare that Beluru belongs to the Lord. May there be a spiritual awakening in this town. May nothing be impossible, and may there be an extraordinary visitation of God in Beluru Town - one that will make an impact throughout Sarawak.
Psalm 33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He chose for His inheritance."
